The Federation
of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the EU
(FACE) is an international non-profit making, non-governmental
organisation that acts in the interests of over 7,000,000
European hunters since its founding in 1977.
From its headquarters in the heart of Brussels, Belgium, FACE
represents its 36 Members that are national hunters' associations
within the Member States of the European Union and other Council
of Europe countries, as well as its five Associate Members.
FACE has been a member of the World Conservation Union (IUCN)
since 1987, and more recently of Wetlands International.

FACE seeks
to:
PROMOTE hunting in accordance with the principles
of sustainable use of natural resources. Hunting is an important
component in the conservation and management of wildlife,
as well as the protection, creation and restoration of habitats.
Hunting is also an important socio-economic countryside
activity which adds value to biodiversity and helps ensure
its continued conservation;
ADVOCATE the collective interests of its Members
at the level of European and international institutions
so that the interests of hunters are taken into account
in relation to hunting, wildlife management, nature conservation,
firearms, animal health, game meat, etc.;
CONTRIBUTE towards informing decision-makers, the
media and the public on issues covering two key principles,
sustainable hunting and biodiversity conservation, by raising
awareness on initiatives that aim to promote these principles.
