Founded in September 1977, FACE is a non-profit-making, non-governmental, international association with its Headquarters in Brussels (Belgium).

Through its 36 members, the national hunters' associations of the Member States of the European Union and other Council of Europe countries, FACE represents the interests of some 7 million European hunters.

These men and women practice a wide range of hunting disciplines: small game shooting, wildfowling, stalking, falconry, hunting with hounds, bowhunting, etc., in fact all legal methods of taking, as a leisure activity, wildlife species generally classified as "game".

For nearly 30 years now, FACE's main objectives are :

> to PROMOTE hunting, in accordance with the principle of wise and sustainable use of natural resources, as a tool for rural development, for conservation of wildlife and biodiversity and for conservation, improvement and restoration of wildlife habitats.
> to DEFEND and to REPRESENT the collective interests of its members at the level of the European and international institutions. Lobbying, in other words!
